The Earth is studied using many different geophysical methods. Most of those are indirect and do not yield unique solutions. It is by creatively combining survey results of different methods that useful models and explanations can be built. These are usually not the only possible solutions, so interpretation requires insight, creative thinking and great caution.

In the spring of 2017 I joined members of the Icelandic Glacier Research Society on two field trips to the Langjökull and Vatnajökull ice caps. These photographs document their tireless efforts to quantify and understand a landscape before it disappears.
